Audiologist Advisory Council

To support our members informational needs HLAA Boston has partnered with seven experienced audiologists with a variety of expertise representing local respected institutions offering Audiology research, training and/or clinics. These audiologists make up our Audiologist Advisory Council (AAC) and will address members questions in an “Ask the Audiologist” newsletter column beginning in October. Meet the Council

Dr. Jennifer Bentley
Dr. Jennifer Bentley

Dr. Bentley is an audiologist and clinical assistant professor at Boston University. She is well-versed in a broad range of audiology programs, treatments and modalities for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Dr. King Chung
Dr. King Chung

Dr. King Chung is a professor of Audiology at MGH Institute of Health Professions. Her areas of expertise include app development, calibration, hearing aids, wind noise research, and humanitarian audiology. She also holds several US patents that can significantly reduce the cost and improve the quality of audiology services.

Dr. Rachel Petrie
Dr. Rachel Petrie

Dr. Rachel Petrie is a clinical and research audiologist at Mass Eye and Ear. She enjoys working with patients of all ages, ranging from infancy to adulthood. She specializes in working with cochlear implants.

Dr. Nicole Laffan
Dr. Nicole Laffan

Dr.  Nicole Laffan is an Associate Clinical Professor at Northeastern University. She is both an audiologist and a speech-language pathologist. Her interest areas include amplification, aural rehabilitation, educational audiology, central auditory processing disorders, autism, and language disorders.

Dr. Allyson Mancuso
Dr. Allyson Mancuso

Dr. Allyson Mancuso is an audiologist at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her specialties are diagnostics, auditory electrophysiology evaluations, tinnitus, misophonia, and hyperacusis management. Dr. Maryam Salehomoum

Dr. Salehomoum is a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist and an academic faculty at Emerson College. Her areas of interest are communication self-efficacy, inclusion, and literacy development for children and teens.

Dr. Nathalie Whitmal
Dr. Nathalie Whitmal III

Dr. Nathaniel Whitmal III is an Associate Professor at University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His areas of expertise are in speech intelligibility; signal processing; hearing aids; cochlear implants; electroacoustics. His research informs the design and usage of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other hearing assistive devices.
