We’ve asked Dr. Sotonwa to speak to us about MCDHH services for those with hearing loss living independently and not covered by Mass Health (Medicaid).

Join the Museum’s Center for Life Sciences for an evening of dialogue led by 3 esteemed researchers. They will consider the concept of aging and ask:
1) What does it mean to age while disabled? 2) How does disability prepare us for aging? 3) How does disability disrupt expectations of aging? 4) What about those who experience time differently?

Technology librarian Brad McKenna – who has been wearing hearing aids for almost twenty years – hosts a monthly discussion group where attendees can ask questions and share tips and tricks. Brad gets the conversation started each meeting by showing what technologies he finds helpful. The discussion isn’t just technology. Brad shares practical advice, communication tips – like asking people to rephrase not repeat – and what’s involved in getting hearing aids in the first place.
